
The Board of Directors consists of two foster parent representatives from each region of the province and two foster parent representatives from Mi'kmaq (Cape Breton and Mainland) who are each elected to two year terms. There is also a position for a Youth in Care Representative which is currently vacant.
Regional meetings of the Board of Directors are planned so that representatives can hear and discuss foster parents' issues, concerns and wishes. Board Members represent all provincial foster parents and, as such, must take direction from the region they represent. The Board members are also responsible for sharing materials and information with foster parents in their respective regions.

In keeping with a regional approach to representation, foster parents from each region are also represented on other provincial committees, as a part of the regional exchange of information.
